The games feature a gladiator type arena where shifters and other supernatural creatures compete. The plot was action-packed as we find ourselves in the middle of the Midnight Games. Kate once again puts herself in danger for her friends, as she demands vengeance and tries to protect Curran and his pack. Jim tries to protect the pack behind Curran’s back and there has been a murder. Kate finds herself in the middle of pack business when Derek is tragically hurt. He looked terribly pleased with himself and slightly hungry.
